Compression socks are often utilized to be more functional than fashionable. However, if you use compression socks, you can make them a fashion statement when pairing them with shoes, whether you’re using them for a long trip, work, runs or hikes, or a long day of flights.

If you’ve been wondering how you can up your fashion game by styling your compression socks for daily wear, here are some helpful tips for matching those socks with your favorite shoes and making a fashion statement.

    Compression Socks For Every Season

Compression socks have a variety of health uses, with many benefits that include:

    • Boosting circulation: The pressure the socks apply helps increase blood flow from the legs back up to the heart.
    • Reduces swelling: Sometimes, the legs, ankles, and feet will swell due to low circulation, and compression socks work to reduce that swelling and inflammation.
    • Prevents blood clotting and Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
    • Decreases the appearance and likelihood of varicose veins

With all these advantages to your leg health, it’s easy to see why opting for compression socks is helpful. You may think they are only beneficial in wintertime since they can work to keep your legs warm and your blood flowing.

However, compression socks work well in any season, even in the summertime. When you get hot, your veins expand, and sometimes fluid can pool in the lower legs and feet, causing water retention and swelling. The compression socks help keep the blood circulating to reduce fluid buildup.

    Compression Sock Styles With Shoes

Creating the perfect stylish outfit involves paying attention to the little details, including the length and colors of your socks. These choices can impact your outfit’s overall look and feel. Whether you prefer ankle- or knee-length compression socks, suitable sock styles paired with shoes can elevate any outfit.

Here are some easy styling tips for choosing the right compression socks to match your favorite pair of shoes. The Vim & Vigr women’s collection has many patterns, colors, and style options.

    • If your shoes are a bold, bright color, choose a compression sock pattern with one of the bright colors included as a way to complement them. You may also want to pick another bright color in contrast since color clashing on purpose can be fashionable (80s neons, anyone?).

    • Choose a fun monochrome pattern of compression socks that adds a little pop if your shoes are all one monochrome color, like black or white. You can also choose to go bold and patterned against the plain color of your shoes to make a different statement.
    • If your favorite sneakers have multiple colors throughout them, in this case, you can choose a compression sock to match that has just one color to complement your shoes (see the cover picture).
    • Pair your compression socks over a pair of leggings with a heavy, chunky boot for a casual and edgy look. Choose earthy tones or a luxury style with grays, nudes, browns, and muted greens.
    • Consider wearing knee-length compression socks with a dress and flats to give them the ability to stand out as your focal fashion piece.
    • If you have taller boots or stylish hiking boots, consider using compression socks that poke out just a little bit higher over the top of them so that they can be seen.
    • Dress shoes and heels can be worn with neutral-colored compression socks or stockings as a way to go with the outfit.
    • Go full-color scheme and wear a sock that matches your shoe color for color to make a tried-and-true combination.

    Style Has no Boundaries

Feel free to be as creative as you like—there is no wrong way to match your compression socks to your shoes. No matter what your style is, feel free to go ahead and mix and match various combinations of compression socks to your favorite shoes and see what makes the best fashion sense to match your personality and character.
